Beneath the skies of the Australian Southern Cross the light that falls upon the outback landscape between Broken Hill and Silverton at dawn and dusk cannot be compared to another.

Under the guidance of Fashion Director, Billie Iveson and photographer Steven Ward the Russh editorial team had the opportunity to capture the very first and last hues of this incredible reflective light with international beauty and Australia’s own, model actress Gemma Ward.

With a color palette of earthy tones, dusty browns and camels Billie layered vests under Burberry Prorsum coats, Vintage wraps, Channel Jumpers and Christian Dior Top and Pants which gave the shoot a natural outback feel, finishing touches using Primari hat, Lover Bra with Miu Miu and Dries Van Norten shoes, absolute luxury blending into the raw windswept desert environment.
Make up artist Victoria Baron created gorgeous glowing skin using the Channel Hydra Beauty product range while I created wind swept hair using R+Co’s Aircraft Pomade Mousse to form a second day texture to the hair.

Then using the ghd curve wave wand I created bends, dents and natural movements to Gemma's hair. Brushing and working my hands through the hair allowed the hair to find its own reality.
Finishing off with R+Co’s Outer Space Flexible Hairspray gave me the ability to manipulate the hair without loosing volume or movement. I really like texture sprays with hold.
Outer Space is a workable spray that has memory, which makes it easy to restyle, and transform hair as needed without any buildup.
